### A Brief History of Aston Martin
The company founded as Bamford & Martin created the first Aston Martin vehicles in 1913. Lionel Martin, one of the co-founders, was inspired by the steep hills of the Aston Clinton village and built high-performance cars capable of conquering such terrain. Early models were lightweight, agile, and designed for spirited driving, quickly gaining attention in pre-war motorsport circles. The brand struggled through financial instability in its early decades but was reborn in the 1940s under David Brown, who acquired the company and launched iconic models like the DB2 and DB4. Brown elevated Aston Martin into a symbol of British luxury and performance. In the 1960s, the DB5 became legendary, immortalized by its association with James Bond. Over the following decades, Aston Martin saw ownership changes, including periods under Ford Motor Company, which revitalized the brand in the 1990s with models like the DB7 and Vanquish. In 2007, Ford sold Aston Martin to a consortium led by Prodrive and several Middle Eastern investors. Today, Aston Martin is a publicly traded company with significant investment from Lucid and the Saudi Public Investment Fund, reinforcing its position in the global luxury performance market.
Aston Martins were created as a harmonious blend of precision engineering and handcrafted elegance. As they became more popular, the model started to move upscale into the elite grand tourer and luxury sports car brand it is today. To this day, Aston Martins still stand out on the roads of Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Pasadena, West Hollywood, Burbank, and beyond.
